The Beginning

“Travel before you have kids, otherwise you never will.”

My great grandma would say anytime we discussed my future. My response was always the same: “The kid will come with me.” Bold words for someone in their early 20s working minimum wage and no real plan beyond a heart full of dreams and a passport she couldn’t afford to fill.

Now here I am — a mom, a partner, a hardcore lover of exploring new places and experiencing as much as the world has to offer — swamped with bills and laundry and diapers. But that wish to show my son what is out there is still lingering. Tiny Shoes, Big Views is a love letter to that promise I made: to bring the kid with me.

This blog is for the families who long to explore, even if it’s just the next town over. It’s for parents who believe wonder lives in every corner — from cobblestone streets to convenience store candy aisles.

If you’re chasing adventure with a little hand in yours, welcome. You’re in the right place.

ABOUT US

My name is Nichole, a 30 year old mom to a wonderful 2 year old boy named Levi and girlfriend for 5 years to an amazing man named Lusando. I was always fascinated with checking out different places since I was young. Each movie I watched I was hung up on the setting, wishing I was where the actors were. I was 22 when I dove off the deep end and studied abroad in Japan. It opened my eyes and I went back at 25.

I met my boyfriend in 2020. We did not jet off to many exotic locations but always made it a point to do day trips twice a month as well as the fun exploration of new cafes and restaurants around our home of Arizona.

We welcomed Levi in 2023 and now working to continue that goal to always keep exploring.
